QLD: Bundaberg emergency as insecticide spills
BRISBANE, Feb 13 AAP - A 12 hour emergency in Bundaberg ended today when Fire and Rescue
Service officers contained toxic insecticide spilling from a rail wagon.
Four city blocks were closed off last night when the highly toxic liquid was noticed
dripping from the wagon in the McLean Street goods yards near the CBD.
Fire and Rescue Service regional officer John Watson said disruption to the public
was minimal because most of the commercial buildings in the four blocks closed off were
not being used.
Mr Watson said extra chemical protection suits were brought in from Brisbane and Maryborough
for officers containing the spill.
